Fall with the crazy girl

Face painting, booty-shaking and many giggles later, we had a lovely fall! Lilah made a perfect Dorothy for Halloween (braids and all) and was fully aware this year of how faster trick or treating = more candy in your basket. She loves to do artwork... most of it even ends up on the paper where it should be!

What a couple of photogenic months Lilah had! Ice Age Days, swimming in Lake Michigan, visit to Grandma Susie and Grandpa Bob's house, playing on Marion Street, eating doughnuts at the Farmer's Market and starting pre-school! The last 2 are bonus shots from our maternity photo session in March... been meaning to share those for a while. Lilah loves school and brings home piles of artwork every day. (Mommy loves the fact that she's now in school across the street.)

3 YEARS OLD!!!

Wow - our little Lilah Bea is 3 years old! We had a wonderful summer, though not enough pool time. It really passed in a flash and Lilah will start preschool on Sept. 3. I'm sure she'll do great, especially since it's the same teachers she had for playschool. She continues to love Harrison (most times), though occasionally acts out. Her birthday party was lots of fun and she loves to ride her big girl bike (with training wheels) all over Oak Park. She draws faces and can write all the letters in her name, though not always in a line or in order (but close)! It seems I've been slacking on pictures of her with Ga for some time, because I didn't have a 2-year one for comparison. Above you see Lilah at 20 months and at 36 months with her best friend.

Big Sister Lilah

While this blog is supposed to be about Lilah Bea and all her fantastic adventures, it certainly seems fair to warn you that from here on out, it's also tangentially about Harrison. Yeah, he has his own blog (check it out!), but Lilah will forevermore be a big sister. And she's a good one, too! She's anxious to "help" with things like fetching pacifiers and attending diaper changes ("Let's go see that pooper, Harry!") and is, generally, sweet and gentle with her little brother. When she's not elbowing him in the head accidentally. I'm pleasantly surprised to report that she hasn't regressed in any ways and seems geniunely excited in her new role.
In store for our next blog update: 3 years old! Wowsa.

On Time! Lilah is 2 years and 8 months old today...

Well, she's still not a big sister, but these last 2 months had a few "firsts" anyways. First time coloring Easter Eggs, first encounter with an oversized costumed character and (the one that goes in the baby book) - first haircut! We also made time for the zoo and played a little DDR along the way, which Lilah calls "Dance Party." Her moves are awesome, by the way.

Back with baby news soon, we hope!
